The Himalayan Adventure Sports & Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) is a trailblazing organization dedicated to developing and promoting mountain biking and adventure sports in the Indian Himalayas. Established with a vision to combine adventure, community, and conservation, HASTPA has been at the forefront of India’s mountain biking movement for over two decades.
From the inception of MTB Himalaya—one of Asia’s toughest and most prestigious mountain biking stage races—to the execution of more than 40 elite national and international cycling events, HASTPA has been instrumental in putting the Himalayas and Himachal Pradesh on the global adventure sports map.
From humble beginnings to hosting India’s first and most celebrated mountain biking events, HASTPA has successfully executed over 40 elite national and international MTB races across Himachal Pradesh — including the globally acclaimed MTB Himalaya, one of the toughest stage races in the world.
Through dedication, innovation, and partnerships with state and national bodies, HASTPA has built an ecosystem that supports athletes, enthusiasts, and local communities, promoting sustainable adventure tourism in the Himalayas.
Series of community rides, awareness drives, and fitness campaigns organized across Himachal to encourage cycling for health, environment, and community bonding.
Workshops and training programs in schools to introduce students to mountain biking, safety practices, and sportsmanship — building the next generation of cyclists.
From local riders to national-level athletes, HASTPA’s mentorship and training programs have helped nurture talent, with many riders now representing India at competitive platforms.
For over 20 years, HASTPA has been scripting the story of mountain biking in the Indian Himalayas — from rugged single tracks to high-altitude passes, from community rides to international racing glory. Each event we’ve organized reflects our passion for adventure, our respect for the mountains, and our commitment to developing cycling culture in India.
